J.K. Carriere, Pinot Noir Vespidae Willamette Valley 2019

100% Pinot Noir. Organic. Jim Prosser established J.K. Carriere in 1999. The family of wasps used on the label, also known as Vespidae, has twice nearly killed him due to a severe allergy. A blend of 5 vineyards, all with volcanic soils and of varying age. Barrel aged for 19 months and bottled unfined & unfiltered. An array of red and blue fruit scents are complemented by suggestions of botanical herbs and pungent flowers. Spice-laced cherry cola and boysenberry flavors develop a touch of musky licorice.
