Domaine La Providence, 'Chemin Faisant' Vin de France 2023

80% Cinsault/20% Syrah. Certified organic. Provence isn't just pale pink wine. Chemin Faisant roughly translates to "creating your path as you go along". Jean-Benoît Comor had not planned to make this specific wine, but needed something to bottle early for early Spring sales as this is the first full year the estate is free of old grape contracts. Whole clusters of Syrah went through carbonic maceration in steel with daily pumpovers. The Cinsault was destemmed and fermented an in egg-shaped plastic vat and some steel tanks with foot treading and regular punchdowns. The two wines were aged about six months before being blended and bottled. 2023 is only the second vintage!
