70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc. Certified organic. In Bordeaux, home of big corporate chateaux and giant vineyard holdings, it's nice to find an actual farmer making wine. Michel Theron started this tiny (2,000 cases annually) estate in 1994 and it has become recognized for its high quality and attention to detail while continuing to make wine that can only be called 'classic'. The Margaux, the most important wine at the estate, is deep and powerful, with assertive tannic backbone and enough acidity to lay it down and forget about it in the cellar for 25 years.
