100% Barbera. Organic. Alessandro Costa organically cultivates traditional, local varieties in his family’s vineyards which were originally planted in 1871 to 7 ha on a hilltop overlooking the village of Montá. Here, in the heart of the Roero, the vines–some of which are over 100 years old– benefit from southern exposures, and calcareous soils rich in clay, and sand. Classic fruit-driven Barbera, delicate red fruit and medium acidity while being light enough to not require meat.
