Matijia Zervav, the third generation farmer and winemaker of his family's 8.5 Hectares and cellar, which dates back tom1852, is dedicated to organic and fully manual work in the vineyards. The subregion of Štajerska is located in the so-called mountain wine zone, where the essential factor is a sharp contrast between warm days and cool nights. the 20-50 year old vines are dry farmed and deep rooted, and Matic applies compost according to the Demeter model. Wild fermentation occurs in tanks ranging from stainless steel to clay amphora and Slavonian oak barrels ranging from 200 to 500 liters. Kerner Skin Contact wine is a standout example of Matic's innovative approach to winemaking. 14-day skin contact which imparts a rich amber color and complexity of flavors. It's then aged in stainless steel, allowing the wine to retain its fresh and fruity character. Aromas of ripe pineapple, mango, and lychee, with evolving notes of smoke and earth as the wine aerate. On the palate, fresh and full-bodied with tropical fruit flavors and a balanced acidity, reflecting the mineral-rich terroir of Štajerska!
